It's a Wonderful Life
Auditions for our big holiday show, It’s A Wonderful Life,
directed by Ruth Morgan, will be held Sunday, September 26 at 2:30 PM,
and Monday, September 27, at 7:00 PM.
All roles are open. You will be asked to read from the script with others
at the audition. This classic story of George Bailey and his family is
perhaps the best-loved Christmas movie of all time, and it runs from
December 3 through December 19 at Lakeland, including a school day matinee
on Thursday, December 9.
Into the Woods
Our first big book musical of 2011 is the Sondheim/Lapine masterpiece
Into The Woods, the story of beloved classic fairy tales after the
“happily ever after” part of the story. It is rousing and thought-provoking,
a modern classic musical that has had audiences devouring it like the Big
Bad Wolf since it opened on Broadway for the first time in the 1980’s, and
this new script and score is from 2006. Director Maria Hurst will be looking
for 11-20 strong singer/actors who can handle a Sondheim score, which is
more difficult than most, and fearless folks brave enough to tackle
fractured fairy tales!
Auditions will take place at Lakeland on Sunday, November 7 at 4:00 PM
and on Monday, November 8 at 7:00 PM. Please bring a song to sing and
be prepared to read from the script and move. Individual music rehearsals
will start immediately, but most group rehearsals will take place after
January 2, 2011.
