Crab Feed - Saturday, May 3 only
Last
year we had a great time with steamed Alaskan King Crab Legs and Claws, and
people went away happy and full! This year we are once again serving
all-you-can-eat Alaskan King Crab with all the fixings, and combining it with
a silent auction put together by our great Lakeland Ambassadors to make it an
unforgettable Saturday night at Lakeland! Bring your best “crab crackers” and
your best friends – we’ll see you there!
Julie's Taps & Tutus - Monday, May 19 only
Established
in 1995, Julie Mason and her students are now a tradition with Lakeland
audiences and the entire community. Join her and her students as they show off
their skills!
South Pacific - Opens May 30

Lakeland Theatre Company presents its May/June musical, Rodgers and
Hammerstein’s classic South Pacific, beginning May 30 at Lakeland.
Featuring such beloved songs as “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-A My Hair”,
“There Is Nothing Like A Dame”, and the immortal “Some Enchanted Evening”,
South Pacific is a show and a story you and your family will not want to
miss.
Set in an island paradise during World War II, two parallel love stories
are threatened by the dangers of racial prejudice and war. Nellie, a spunky
nurse from Arkansas, falls in love with a mature French planter, Emile. It is
a towering story of individuals caught up in a world at war, and is considered
one of the true classics of American musical theatre. South Pacific
will begin performances on May 30, and run through June 15th at Lakeland
Theatre Company’s Mark E. Taylor Theatre in Littleton. This production is
sponsored by the Warren County Arts Council, with support from the Halifax
County Arts Council, and Lakeland gratefully acknowledges their support.
Director Cheryl Sebrell has put together a great cast and crew to bring
this very special story to life. Music direction is by Dwight Berry. The show
begins on Friday, May 30, and runs on May 31, June 1, June 6, 7, 14 and 15. A
preshow “themed” dinner is available on Opening Night, May 30, at an
additional extra charge. Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and
children. Members of Lakeland and groups of 15 or more adults receive
discounts.
This project is supported by a grant from the Grassroots Arts Program of
the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, through the Warren County
Arts Council and the Halifax County Arts Council.
Lakeland Singers: "Sweet Land of Liberty" -
Saturday, June 28 only
The
Lakeland Singers, under the direction of Wrenn Phillips and accompanied by
Judith Harris, will present a powerful patriotic concert on June 28 entitled
“Sweet Land of Liberty”. This show, featuring songs and narration and a slide
show, will serve as a reminder of how precious our freedom is and how lucky we
are to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Join us as we
kick off the Fourth of July celebration early with this amazing program!
