Please join us for the 14th Annual L.O.V.E. Awards on Saturday, February
11. It’s a great evening to dress up and attend our very own version of the
“Oscars”, and help Lakeland honor the very best of 2011. The L.O.V.E. Awards
is our way to say “Thank you” to all of our performers, backstage/tech crew,
and volunteer workers who made this past season a big success. Enjoy seeing
favorite musical numbers and scenes from some of our 2011 shows, plus see a
sneak preview from “All Shook Up,” which is our first big show of 2012.
Bring your family, bring a friend, or bring a date and let’s all reminisce
about the last year’s shows while looking forward to the new 2012 season!
This year your Lakeland Membership includes The L.O.V.E. Awards! Ticket
prices will be $8 for adults, $5 for students/children. The standard $4.00
discount or free admission for members applies based on the membership type.
After the show, join us in the dining room for “The After Party.”
THE AFTER PARTY - Join us after the Love Awards for a little dancing,
celebrating, and some congratulatory drinks with the winners. The DJ will be
spinning your favorite tunes and since you are already dressed in your
finest, you are sure to impress your date on the dance floor. The
festivities will spin up at about 9:30PM. Entrance requires a wristband. All
ages are invited but as with the L.O.V.E. Awards, this is the night to dress
to impress. Come play with us!
The After Party requires an additional entrance of $15 for advanced
reservation, or $20 on the day of the event. This includes light snacks, soft
drinks, beer, wine and entertainment.
All Shook Up - Opens Friday, February 17,
2012
This
is exactly what Lakeland audiences have been waiting for! It is an
undeniable fact that most people love the music of Elvis. It is also an
undeniable fact that most people see Shakespeare as the greatest playwright
in all of history. All Shook Up is a musical version of Shakespeare's
comedy Twelfth Night set in the 1950's with all of Elvis greatest
hits telling the story. It begins with convict/roustabout Chad getting out of jail as the whole cast sings and dances to
"Jailhouse Rock", and this is just one of the many incorporated hit tunes in
the show. The show includes songs such as "Burnin' Love", "I Can't Help
Falling In Love With You", "Teddy Bear", "Hound Dog", "Devil In Disguise"
and "All Shook Up." We have a veteran and experienced cast as well as new
actors to make up the company of this smash-hit Broadway musical; people
such as Diana Marker, Tia Bedwell, Ruth Morgan, Will Cox, Rob Licht, Terry
Edwards, Paris Edwards, Sam Nixon and many more. We also have a production
crew that we are very proud of, with Mary Ann Whittemore as the Assistant
Director and Jane Nixon as the Musical Director. This show is without a
doubt going to be a fun, heart pounding, musical experience for all the
family. Let's all come share in the joy of Elvis, dancing, singing, acting,
and theatre together.
