Lakeland Theatre Company announces the continuation of its popular
“Lakeland Theatre Camp”, a two-week summer theatre camp for young people
ages 7-10 years old. The workshop will begin on Tuesday, July 7 and run
through Saturday, July 19, with classes Tuesday through Saturday for both
weeks. Camp will begin every day at 1:30 PM, and will conclude each day
around 3:00 PM. This camp will teach attendees the basics of theatre,
including acting, stage movement, improvisational techniques, voice,
dance, and much more.
Taught through a combination of theatre games and “rehearsal” for a
student showcase at the conclusion of the camp, students and instructors
will explore the fascinating and challenging world of the performing arts
from many angles. The course will be taught by adult instructors who have
over 50 years combined experience in theatre, and by older teenagers who
have attended Lakeland’s Summer Theatre Workshop for several years.
The Lakeland Theatre Camp costs $100.00 per student for the full
two-week period, and members of Lakeland Theatre Company can attend for
$75.00. This fee includes a t-shirt and a video of the student showcase
production, which will take place on Saturday, July 19 at 2:00 PM.
