Lakeland Ambassadors: watch them perform a wide range of entertaining
music, dance, and skits, and help them realize their “dream trip” this
summer to Broadway! |
 |
February 14 - The L.O.V.E. Awards.
It’s a great evening, modeled after the “Oscars” with awards and
highlights from the past year and a preview of this years first show.
It’s a wonderful way to say “thank you” to those who have given so
much over the past year to entertain you. |

enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers &
Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm, and elegance. |
 |
March 27, 28, 29*, April 3, 4, 5*, 10, 11 - Lend Me
a Tenor. This night in September of 1934 is the biggest one
in the history of the Cleveland Opera Company, because world-famous
tenor Tito Morelli is to perform Otello, his greatest role, at
the gala season opener. Through a series of mishaps, “Il Stupendo” is
given a double dose of tranquilizers and mistaken for dead – and then
the fun ensues! A sensation in London and on Broadway, this show was
the surprise hit of Lakeland’s 1999 season! Come see why the critics
called it “screamingly funny”! |
 |
April 24, 25, May 1, 2, 3*, 8, 9, 10* - One Flew
Over the Cuckoo's Nest. “One of the finest, most meaningful and
most moving plays of recent times”, this story centers on Randle P.
McMurphy (played by Kirk Douglas on Broadway and Jack Nicholson on
film), a new patient in the mental institution where he has contrived
to serve a short sentence (instead of jail). Funny, warm, and
exciting, this show transforms the audience into one wild cheering
section, and is a powerful statement on our treatment of those
afflicted by mental health problems, too. |
 |

July 9, 10, 11*, 12, 17, 18*, 19* -
A Midsummer's Night Dream. You’ll love the warmth, humor and
just plain silliness of this show! This Shakespearean classic about
love and magic is transformed by Lakeland’s “Theatre Kids” into a
stunning visual and entertaining event for everyone! We’re setting
the show in a tropical rain forest, where magic and hilarity abound
as lovers, fairies, and a troop of rustic would-be “actors” get lost
while trying to find their heart’s desires – and the way in which
they interact will have you laughing so hard you may fall out of
your chair! A
production of The Young People’s Theatre Workshop and
Kids' Summer Theatre Camp. |
 |
August 14, 15, 16*, 21, 22, 23*, 28, 29 - Summer
Musical Revue.

 |
September 4, 5, 11, 12, 13*, 18, 19, 20* - Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of
many colors comes to vibrant life on stage in this delightful
musical parable. Joseph, his father’s favorite son, is a boy blessed
with prophetic dreams. Set to an engaging score that includes pop,
country-and-western, rock-and-roll, balladeering and even Calypso
musical styles, this Old Testament tale emerges as a timely and
timeless story. |
 |
October 10 - Comedy Night. Improvisational
comedy at its best, done by Lakeland actors with a seriously
demented sense of humor. We do “Whose Line Is It Anyway” –style
comedy with ideas submitted by you, the audience! Come and be a part
of the entertainment! |
|

annually in New York City for so many years! |
